Day Sail - Kel and Ralf

Nice wind today-15-22 apparent on a close reach up the Bay. Out of the NW, so whitecaps on smaller waves and chop. Bit larger waves rolling out the long fetches of the South and Rhode Rivers.
Stuck with staysail only.

Practiced reefing the main. With the furling line tight, I placed the small pin on the mast in the "in" position. Can't seem to find a manual online for this older Hood system, but it held well.  No INSTA-MAIN.

Turned around close the bridge, while watching the end of a J105 race. Sailed all the way back to the slip. Used the autopilot to test it out on a brisk sail. Worked well.

Wind was fading by the time we got back. Enjoyed happy hour and a nap on the cockpit.
