Watch for Cars
It's been a while since we had to watch for cars. It is trickier than boats, whales, bears, and floating "dead head" logs. More dangerous too. I'll take any of the above over the unpredictable, rampaging pick-up truck with a "late for work" dock worker.
Even with the rolling rubber steel machines, Prince Rupert was good to us. Nice shops, good food, and a great marine chandlery. Back to small town life and a couple of rolly nights on the breakwater dock. The Canadians have been very nice to us. None of the "elbows up" attitude we expected following our President's antics. Everyone smiles at Jay. One T-shirt had a map of North America on the front. Across Canada the shirt read "This is Canada." Across the USA it read "This is not Canada, eh?" Custom made for Trump. We spent plenty of time this past month apologizing for US politics. We'll see how the Alaskans are doing. Our plan is to spend a month based out of Ketchikan. From there, Kel will fly to Boise for a week with the family. She has earned it, but is a bit worried about the 100+ degrees days.
