Last days in Maine

We left Harbor Island and rounded the corner into Casco Bay. Dolphin Marina sits on the tip of an island in the middle of the bay, with amazing 270-degree views. Run by the same family for many generations, Dolphin Marina may be more famous for their service to cruisers tying up to their mooring balls. The dockhands guide you to a ball and hand you the line. They deliver blueberry muffins and coffee to your boat every morning, and you receive preferred seating at their nice restaurant.  All of this and they are priced the same as any other marina.

The restaurant was running their end of season special: seafood stuffed lobster. Seemed strange to hear people talking about the end of the season, but it in Maine, everything changes quickly in September.  For us, we are thinking about visiting families and then heading to the warm Caribbean in November.  The season is just beginning.

We watched the weather windows and prepared to leave as soon as things fell into place...but not before a fantastic last dinner in Maine.

One last lobster, this one stuffed.
