Day 4: Rest Day in Cape May, NJ

Iolair Taco Salads
We anchored just off the Coast Guard Station.  Taps, Reveille?, Morning march...the recruits were busy.  We sat in the cockpit and watched them. Chris clearly announced that he never wanted to jump out of a helicopter into a churning sea.  We took the dingy on a tour of Cape May and returned for a nice dinner on the boat.

Kelly had found a marina in town, very posh.  We figured after a day on the beach we might like to have the AC.  In addition, we could refreeze the ice panels, do some laundry, take a swim and restock a few groceries. The place was a Gulf Stream fishing mecca, huge powerful fishing boats with outriggers, but only one of 2 marinas that could handle Iolair's draft so we splurged.

Canyon Club Marina, Cape May

Took a long walk into Cape May, went for a swim in the Atlantic and showered at the beach. Historic Cape May is a nice beach town. The high rise hotels don't overwhelm the cool architecture, supposedly more Victorian architecture than anywhere else in the US.  (worth a google?)
