Gardner Bay, SE side of POW
We crossed the Clarence Strait to the SE corner of Prince of Wales. A fellow next to us in Ketchikan knew the area well, and he gave us a nice list of stops. We never would have stopped at Gardener Bay, so I owe him a thank you. Got to try my new salmon fishing setup, and we landed a nice big catch. Some fishing boats out here, but we haven't seen another cruising boat.
Gardener Bay is surrounded by mountains. To the west, the clouds gently come over the tops. Salmon were all around making their way to a stream at the head of the bay. A sow black bear with 2 cubs was busy feasting. A good 200 yards away, she caught our scent. It was amazing to she how fast she got back to the cubs, and they scurried into the woods. Our salmon dinner was the best we've had. So fresh it just melts in your mouth. Without a freezer on Iolair, I'll have to wait a few more days to fish. One fish feeds all 3 of us for days.
That looks wonderful When is dinner? I miss you guys Mom
