Reflections on this dock, a poem by Jay
The public dock smells like unimaginable creatures with enormous eyes.
Strange legless mounds that stink on high.
Slimmy secretions of liquid so foul
Fall from winged villains in the sky.
Unknown aromas, fish guts, and brine
Attack my nostrils all the time.
People say dogs smell.
It's nothing compared to docks you see.
A quarter mile walk you can not forget.
The swamp thing from hell walks along with me.
And then there are the dumpsters...
