Refuge Cove, Desolation Sound

In 2021 we shipped Iolair to the Puget Sound. We had looked at blogs and websites about cruising here, and one of the places that struck us was Refuge Cove.  It's a small little isolated community with a store, fuel, and a little restaurant.  Close to Desolation Sound, Refuge Cove is a convenient supply stop. You can pull in, tie up, and get what you need.  For us, it's clean clothes, a shower, some frozen meat, and a date night at the restaurant for their season opener. We sat with the locals who were all thrilled to have the only restaurant on the island open again. Jay only gets a 30 foot little dog path but he can at least pee on land. Refuge Cove was worth the wait. Tomorrow we navigate the 3 tidal rapids - Yuculta, Gillard, and Dent at precisely 4 PM.  Navigator Kel in charge, so no worries. Once through we won't see another public dock for about a week.
