Past the 1st Gate

 

When heading up the BC coast toward Alaska you go through a series of gates. The gates are marine challenges that a lot of recreational boaters choose not to pass. Just north of Desolation Sound there are a series of significant tidal rapids. We made it through all 5 with ease thanks to Kelly. She is our master tactician. Now…the crowds are gone and we will often be the only boat in the anchorage. Can’t wait to share pictures when we have some internet again. The scenery is truly stunning.
