Hurricane Chris - north to Smith Cove, Potomac River

A hurricane developed off the US East Coast just prior to our departure.  It's unusual for this time of year.  We tune in to a daily weather update from a professional sailor and meteorologist, and currently, it looks like the storm will stay offshore, but one model shows it heading right where we want to go - Massachusetts.  The group of boats in the Salty Dawg Rally have decided to head up the Chesapeake instead of out into the Atlantic at Norfolk, VA.   Our first night we anchored a few miles up the Potomac River in a quiet place called Smith Cove.
