Mooring Ball Blues
After a safe arrival in Rockland, Maine, the local yacht club hosted the Salty Dawgs for a lobster dinner.
As a thank you, we treated the crowd of around 40 local sailors to a rousing rendition of the Mooring Ball Blues. Chris and Zac wrote the tune. Some new friends, Brian and Shellie (s/v Aria), joined in on banjo and backup vocals.
The impromptu band was called - Hurricane Chris & the Piddle Pads
Chris sang and the rest of us are just piddle pads (we came off boats that had 4 legged crew learning to go on a "piddle pads")

Ralf and Kelly -- This is amazing. I was looking back at 2013 and you talking about your dream to do this -- and look at you both --- you're doing it. Maybe we can plan a little week trip with you on the boat.... I am re-thinking this whole thing -- but only for a week --- LoL not for a couple of years. I love how happy you both look -- and living your dream. My webfooted big brother and favorite sister!! Love you both with all my heart. Cori
ReplyDeleteThanks Cori. We would love to have you come for a week. How about the Caribbean somewhere? Can't wait to see you guys in September.
